Dr. Aerin Greidanus (Chiropractor, Clinic Owner) graduated from Canadian Memorial Chiropractic College in 2008. In March 2010, she took over the reins at Highlands Chiropractic. Since her time here, Dr. Greidanus has added several new practitioners to the roster, including Registered Massage Therapists, a Craniosacral Therapist and an Acupuncturist. Additional services now include animal chiropractic, shockwave therapy, custom orthotics, spinal traction and cold laser therapy as well.
In March 2018, Dr. Greidanus was excited to open the doors of Highlands Chiropractic & Wellness Centre at a new location – 6 Booth Street in Minden. The improvement in facilities, as well as more convenient access from Hwy 35, has rejuvenated the entire team and brought a vibrant energy to the clinic.
Dr. Greidanus completed her training in Animal Chiropractic in 2009 through the Healing Oasis Wellness Centre’s Canadian Animal Chiropractic Certification Program.
Dr. Greidanus lives in Minden Hills with her many pets: dogs, Midnight, Moxie, Lulu, and Jack the cat.
Tina Newman, RMT graduated from The Institute of Complementary and Alternative Therapies and has been registered with The College of Massage Therapists of Ontario since 2011.
Since starting her practice, Tina has been committed to continuing her education and training to utilize current research and techniques in the field of manual therapy as it relates to massage therapy. This allows her to develop comprehensive and effective treatments for each individual drawing on a diverse skill set of modalities. Tina has completed training courses with some of manual therapies’ global industry leaders: Tom Myers (www.anatomytrains.com), Erik Dalton (www.erikdalton.com), Dr. Kathy Dooley (lead instructor, www.neurokinetictherapy.com) and James Waslaski (www.orthomassage.net).
In addition to her diverse skill set utilized in a massage treatment , Tina also has trained in the following modalities that can be used as a stand alone treatment or integrated into a massage therapy treatment: Craniosacral Therapy, Neurokinetic Therapy and Visceral Manipulation. When not practicing in the clinic, Tina enjoys spending her time outside in all seasons be it gardening, kayaking or skiing. Above all, her favourite pastime is going for long walks with her dogs.
Tina has completed her Level 1,2 and 3 certifications with Russ Mater in Craniosacral Therapy (www.russmater.ca) using the biodynamic method.
Tina has completed Level 1 and 2 of Neurokinetic Therapy (www.neurokinetictherapy.com) and has plans to complete her Level 3 in 2020. NeuroKinetic Therapy® is a corrective movement system that can be used as both an assessment and rehabilitative technique.
Tina has completed her Level 1 and 2 courses related to the abdominal organs with The Barral Institute (www.barralinstitute.com). This gentle, effective method assesses the structural relationships of the viscera (organs) and their attachments to the various systems in the body.
Marlene MacDonald, RMT has joined Highlands Chiropractic & Wellness Centre on a part-time basis. In 2019, she moved to Minden from her home-based practice of 19 years in Haliburton. She is a graduate of Kikkawa College and brings nearly 25 years of massage therapy experience! Marlene includes a variety of techniques to help her clients with their concerns.She also practices reflexology, reiki, aromatherapy and therapeutic touch.
Albert Kwan (R.Ac, R.TCMP) is a registered, licensed, regulated, and fully insured Acupuncture practitioner in Ontario under the Regulated Health Professions Act 1991, and the Traditional Chinese Medicine Act, 2006.
Albert has many years of Chinese Medicine and Acupuncture clinical experience. He has been a member of the Canadian Society of Chinese Medicine and Acupuncture (CSCMA) since 1995 and a member of the American Traditional Chinese Medical Traumatology Association since 2011.
Albert is following in his father’s footsteps Kwan Tik Wan to help people gain better health. Albert Kwan is the third generation of his family in his scope of practice. He wanted to honour his late father and started the Kwan Tik Wan Wellness Centre in Toronto in order to remember him.
Albert believes in promoting better lifestyle and simple diet in order to gain greater health and prevention of diseases.
In his spare time Albert teaches Tai Chi and Qi Gong in Toronto.
